Our Story
A family story
Bahaar is a family story born during a summer getaway between sisters in Deauville, France.
While that day we wandered on the beach, it suddenly started to rain. We were then taken by a Nostalgia for Mediterranean heat in which we grew up. We realized we missed the burning sun, the colors and the noises of Mediterranean life.
The idea then came to create a bohemian chic brand combining our Parisian and Mediterranean inspirations!
Natural fabrics and neutral palette: the Bahaar signature
We wanted to create a bohemian, chic and versatile wardrobe which can be worn both in town and by the beach.
Our ready-to-wear line is distinguished by natural fabrics and colors, evoking the well-being felt during the sunny days and the fullness of the evening parties by the sea. Our creations, designed in Paris, include a Bohemian touch, combining our Parisian inspirations and travels around the Mediterranean.
Mediterranean inspiration is also found in the Beachwear line. Bahaar, which means the sea in several languages, also offers beach dresses, kimonos, beach kaftans...perfect for chic pooldays and beach escapes.
Responsible manufacturing aligned with our values
Designed with love in Paris, our collections are then manufactured conscientiously in family workshops applying descent working conditions and limited environnemental impact. Natural fabrics, upcycling, limited editions... Bahaar limits the ecological footprint of its collections.
A fashion blogger turned designer
Sofya Benzakour, is the co-founder of the brand with her sister Soumaya. She is the Creative Director of the brand and a fashion blogger. Graduated from Architecture school in Paris, she is passionate about fashion and lives in Paris. Her inspirations combine Parisian aesthetic and Mediterranean lifestyle.
She shares her work, inspirations and travels on her blog and on her social networks where she is followed by more than 160k people on Instagram account @Sofyabenzakour.
